Harrogate Hair Restoration

I started losing my hair in my early twenties.
For a long time, I could manage it — careful styling, a shorter cut, considering camera angles. It's amazing what you can hide from other people, and even from yourself, if you try hard enough.
The moment that actually broke through was sitting in a hairdresser's chair and seeing a bald patch in the mirror that no amount of styling could have hidden. I remember exactly how that felt — the sudden, sinking realisation that this wasn't something I could quietly manage anymore.
I tried minoxidil first, but even that came with its own quiet embarrassment — I couldn't bring myself to buy it in person, so I ended up ordering it online instead, along with a prescription for finasteride, just so no one would have to know.
"I share this not because I know what it's like to experience hair loss as a woman — I don't, and I won't pretend to."
But I do know what it's like to watch something you have no control over change how you see yourself. To feel like you're managing it alone, hoping no one notices, while quietly hoping it doesn't get worse.
That experience is exactly why I started Harrogate Hair Restoration, and why I wanted to build something for women too, not just men. I don't want anyone to feel like they have to face this without a straight answer, a proper assessment, or someone who takes it seriously — the way I wished someone had for me.
I've spent my career in clinical healthcare, working directly with patients and understanding what good treatment looks like. That background, alongside my own experience, is what's driving Harrogate Hair Restoration. I've completed training in the medical management of hair loss. Further advanced treatments — including PRP therapy — are planned as the clinic's registration progresses, giving clients access to an even wider range of options over time.
Why Harrogate? Because it deserves a specialist. 1 in 8 women experience noticeable thinning by their late twenties, and 25% by age 49. Many are told it's just stress, or nothing at all, and by the time it's taken seriously it's often been going on for years. No clinic in Harrogate currently specialises exclusively in scalp and hair wellness for women. We plan to specialise. Do one thing, and do it well.
Harrogate has a long history as a place people travel to feel better about themselves. Its spa heritage and its community's genuine interest in health and wellbeing makes it exactly the right place for a clinic like this.
My hope is simple: that by offering a real, evidence-led assessment and honest advice, you get the chance to address this early, rather than manage it quietly and alone until it feels too late to do anything about it.
