If you've been looking into scalp health treatments, you've probably come across terms like microneedling or LLLT — and found that most explanations either assume you already know what they mean, or gloss over the details entirely. This is a straightforward guide to every treatment we offer right now, what each one does, who it suits, and how they fit together.
Before we recommend anything, we look. Using professional trichoscopy — a magnified examination of the scalp — we assess hair density, sebum levels, follicle condition, and the overall health of your scalp environment.
This isn't a tick-box exercise. Different clients have different scalps, different patterns of noticeable thinning, and different goals. A treatment that works well for one person may be less appropriate for another. The scalp analysis gives us the information we need to make a genuine recommendation rather than a generic one.
Every client at Harrogate Hair Restoration starts here. The £50 founding client fee is deducted in full from any scalp care plan booked as a result.
Microneedling uses a precision device to create controlled micro-channels in the scalp at cosmetic depth. This does two things: it stimulates the scalp's natural renewal response, and it dramatically increases the absorption of active ingredients applied during treatment.
We offer microneedling in three tiers — not to complicate things, but because the active ingredient matters, and clients deserve to understand what they're paying for.
Standard — £150 per session
The foundation tier.
Microneedling with INNO-TDS® Hair Loss Control — a multi-active transdermal formula containing Aminexil, Azelaic Acid, Saw Palmetto, Copper Peptides, and Zinc. Specifically formulated for male androgenetic alopecia and designed for microneedling delivery. A clinically evidenced starting point with real active ingredient payload from session one.
Premium — £275 per session
A meaningful step up.
Microneedling combined with a stem cell conditioned media — a clinically evidenced active ingredient that supports follicle cell activity. A meaningful step up from the Standard tier in terms of what's being delivered to the scalp.
Elite — £375 per session
Our most advanced cosmetic option.
Microneedling with Purasomes™ HSC50+ — 20 billion colostrum-derived exosomes and 20 active growth factors delivered directly to the scalp per session. The strongest cosmetic option available at Phase 1.
All microneedling is performed at cosmetic depth only. It is a minimally invasive treatment with mild redness for 12–24 hours as the typical after-effect.
When CO₂ is absorbed through the skin, the body responds by increasing localised blood flow and oxygen delivery to that area — a well-documented physiological response called the Bohr effect. The result is a better-oxygenated, better-nourished scalp environment.
It's well tolerated, requires no recovery time, and is described by most clients as a mild warming or tingling sensation. It works particularly well as a complement to scalp microneedling — the two together address oxygenation and active ingredient delivery in a single session.
Low-level laser therapy is one of the most researched non-surgical options for supporting hair health, with a substantial body of clinical evidence behind it. The mechanism is straightforward: specific wavelengths of light energy are delivered to the scalp, stimulating cellular activity within the hair follicle and supporting blood flow.
At Harrogate Hair Restoration, LLLT is delivered via a professional in-clinic canopy device. The session lasts around 30 minutes. It's completely non-invasive and painless — clients simply sit beneath the device.
We offer LLLT as a monthly block of four sessions, which represents the best value and the most consistent results. Single sessions are also available for clients who prefer flexibility. Either way, consistency is where the results come from — LLLT rewards regularity.
Scalp Hydradermabrasion — from £120
Scalp hydradermabrasion delivers a deep follicular cleanse using hydradermabrasion technology — removing sebum plugs, product buildup and surface debris that accumulate at follicle level over time.
Available as a standalone appointment (from £120 per session, with courses of 4 and 6 available), or as the opening step of every session in the Harrogate Density Programme™. Standalone sessions can be enhanced with optional add-ons including ultrasonic serum infusion and cold hammer cryomodulation.
No needles. No downtime. A comfortable 30–45 minute session.
What happens between sessions matters. Our own branded take-home serums use the same evidence-based active ingredients applied during your in-clinic treatments, formulated for daily home use.
They're not a replacement for in-clinic treatment — but they extend and maintain the results of it. Available in clinic and via our online store.
Each of these treatments does something specific and different. But the reason they work best at Harrogate Hair Restoration isn't the treatments themselves — it's that nothing is recommended without first understanding your scalp.
That's what the Cosmetic Scalp Analysis is for. It's the starting point for every client, and it's what makes the difference between a treatment that's right for you and one that simply sounds promising.
If you're ready to find out what your scalp actually needs, the waitlist is open — and founding client rates are available for everyone who joins before the full clinical programme launches.
